One of the downsides to living in the Pacific NorthWet is that we get wind storms. Not like tornados or hurricanes but still really annoying. Today we had one, a bit earlier than the norm but not too strong.
Like rats deserting a sinking ship, people started leaving work at about... oh... 2pm. The freeways were a disaster by 3:30.
I had a 4pm meeting and got home about 5:30. C and I took Morganator out to McDonald's -- his treat for being good in school. According to our UPS, the power went out within the next 5 to 10 minutes.

when we called, there were 100,000 out of power that were serviced by our power co.
Thankfully it came back on about 8:15 or I'd not be posting this :)
