I was tagged by the evil Michelle Hasker. Sigh.....

Sooooooooooo - I'm never good at these sorts of challenges. Here's my best shot.....

1. I can make chain maille armor but stick to chain maille jewelry for now. I learned to make it in high school.

2. I never thought I had what it took to be an author until about two years ago.

3. My parents were into science fiction fandom so I pretty much grew up amongst it.

4. I love ravens and consider them my personal guardians.

5. I used to consider myself an introvert but my friends and family say that I'm really just a disguised extrovert. I mean, doesn't every introvert strike up conversations with anyone who doesn't run away fast enough?

6. I'm a jewelry-aholic. I love it. I love to make it. I love to buy it. I love to wear it. Thankfully I try to stick to mostly costume jewelry.

7. I have tattoos and body piercings. I'll leave that to your imagination!

I'm going to participate this year but, as usual, I have to do so using what works for me instead of the official "rules".

The stated rules are to take the entire month of November and produce a 50,000 novel. The guidance given is to ignore editing, etc and just get words on paper. I can't bring myself to do that. It goes against the entire way I write and what tends to make my muse happy.

So I'm going to try to write 50,000 words in the month, including edits,but it may be spread over several contracted stories instead of one work. This comes out to 1700 words a day, basically.

I figure that even the energy behind this will be great motivation. :)

As of today, I'm now at:

Total New Words: 13,817
Average Per Day: 1,382

My aha moment is that I managed to write, even worried over my sick cat, once I set myself down to do so. The words came, not perfect and not in final form, but they DID come.

Still not at my 1500 words per day goal, but I have been writing every day.

Still a tiny bit short of my goal of 1500 new words per day but up from my prior report of 1,042. Maybe I can up it some more.

Not as fast as I want - I'm trying for 1500 per day - but I'm an "edit as I go" person so I have to do at least prelminary edits on the prior day's work before I can write more. It also helps me remember where I am in the story.
